Fashion Designer is a one of a kind portrait inspired by Toronto fashion designer Rennie By Rennie. Rather than simply painting a likeness, this piece captures the small details that make a creator who they are.
Throughout the composition are personal elements pulled directly from Rennie's workspace and daily routine: her worn scissors, Timberland boots she does not tie up, forgotten cups of water scattered around her studio, and even her vape resting nearby. These objects act as visual reminders of the countless hours spent designing, creating, and bringing ideas to life.
Hanging on the wall behind her is a miniature version of Ladies of the Night, the collaborative painting created by Rennie and Mystiic Khalifa. Its inclusion serves as a tribute to creative partnership and the power of artists from different disciplines coming together to build something neither could have created alone.
